For whom dental implants are indicated
Implant treatment is a solution for patients who have lost only one tooth or for those who are completely edentulous.
For whom dental implants are not indicated
Uncontrolled systemic or dental diseases, like uncontrolled diabetes and periodontal disease, are contraindications. However, when these factors are treated and under control, implant therapy is a valuable solution.
Adolescent patients should not be treated with implants as their bones are still growing.
Be aware that heavy smoking also decreases the success rate of implants.
